Last month I got a phone call from Phil. He told me he just got a ticket for speeding. First thought... o great. He came home we paid the ticket and he did the driving class online so great it won't be on our record. Our record should finally be clear of my accident and any other tickets, so needless to say I was excited thinking our insurance might go down a little bit. This is just where the fun started..
About a week or so after that I'm trying to get everything together so we can go with Aaron and Des to the Dinosaur Museum and I'm waiting for Phil to get home and I get another phone call. This time Phil says he's just gotten into an accident. O BOY!! Here we go. He was trying to get on the freeway and out of another trucks way that just about cut him off and hurried to get into the next lane.He checked it was clear got over turned back and the lane was at a dead stop. He slammed on his breaks and creamed the car in front of him. That car hit the SUV in front of him and just ended up squished. Luckily no one was seriously injured. The truck and the SUV had a little bit of damage, but the car had to have been totaled. So we got some quotes and were planning on taking it in to get fixed on this passed Monday. Which it's all done now and Phil had to drive mini van all week!! HA HA HA! The insurance pays for a vehicle while the truck is in the shop. They had one car left and as Phil drove away the engine light came on. So he went back and since they were about to close in 5 mins he had to take all that was left.. a mini van. He got some much grief for it at work. Sorry no pictures of the truck.. I forgot to take some. (There's more...)
I got into the car last Sunday (our newer car that we've been so happy to have since it's reliable and has no problems) and Phil tells me to make sure not to hit that thing in the road in front of me, so I say ok and bye and start to pull away. I realise I can't see if any one's coming and then it dons on me... my mirror is GONE!! It's in the road in front of me. I holler out the window to Phil and he comes over and gets it. I go of to work and we're both trying to figure out what the heck happened. I get home and we look at the car. Some one had swiped the side of our car left big red marks on the side, dented the bottom in a little, and took off the mirror. At this point I'm thinking our insurance is going to hate us!! We just filed a claim the 2 weeks before on the truck and now we have to make a claim on our own insurance since the other people obviously just left!! With just out luck though this week Aaron took a Mr. Clean magic eraser to the paint transfer and it took it all off. So now we just have to pay to fix the mirror and the side piece. It really wasn't bad just mostly annoying.
It has been one heck of a month.. or should i say summer with our vehicles. Hopefully we're good now for the next couple of years at least!!
